There are a number of services and opportunities that we can offer you as a Voluntary, Community or Faith organisation:

Training
We offer our members access to training opportunities in areas such as First Aid, child protection, minibus driving and youth work, as well as many other areas.

Representation
We represent the collective views and interests of our members on a number of statutory groups, committees and forums within the Reading area.

Funding
We can help you obtain the funding your organisation needs, including funding offered by RCVYS.

Information
We are an access point for a wide range of information on issues affecting voluntary sector youth and children’s work in the Reading area.

Exchange
We offer a regular forum for debate and discussion of the issues affecting voluntary sector youth and children’s work in the Reading area.

DBS checks
We are able to offer training, advice and signposting for DBS checking through local umbrella bodies. Please contact us for more information.

Membership is open to:

  • Any club, group or society whose primary aim is to work with children and young people in the Reading area.
  • Any club, group or society who supports the aims and objectives of RCVYS and has children and young people’s interests in mind.
  • Representatives of any properly constituted county, regional or national umbrella organisation which supports the welfare of children and young people in clubs and elsewhere in the Reading area.

RCVYS has two levels of membership, Enhanced Level Membership which costs £25 per year and Standard Level Membership which is free of charge.

(Yearly membership runs from 1st September – 31st August)

Membership
Identifying and Communicating Needs
Able to receive information about upcoming consultations and engagement events, and to provide a written response on behalf of the organisation, which RCVYS will collate into a wider response.

Training and Consultancy
Support from RCVYS Development Workers.
Access to free training courses.
Able to apply to the RCVYS Training Bursary* for up to £100 per course to support training in your organisation (* subject to funding).

Communication and Networking
Welcome to attend RCVYS Members Meetings, Special Interest Groups, and events.
Limited mailing list service: News, Events, Training, Jobs, Representation, and a Weekly Digest of the above.

Representation
Access to all notes from Partnership Meetings, and the opportunity to interact with RCVYS Representatives and Spokespeople.
Able to nominate individuals to become members of the RCVYS Executive.

Able to apply to the RCVYS Training Bursary* for up to £125 per course to support training in your organisation (* subject to funding).

+ Full mailing list service: News, Events, Training, Funding, Jobs, Representation, and a full Weekly Digest.
+ Ability to advertise job opportunities through the RCVYS Mailing List.

Representation
+ Able to become a RCVYS Representative or Spokesperson.
